Nursery

Welcome to Southwest Christian Church’s Little Blessings Nursery Ministry. It is our privilege to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the infants and toddlers entrusted to our care. It is our prayer that this ministry ensure a loving and happy atmosphere where parents can confidently leave their children.

We staff our nurseries with a combination of paid employees and volunteers from our church. Every staff person and volunteer experiences training and a personal background check before serving in this ministry. Our nursery workers are prepared to provide the best possible care for your child. All linens, toys and equipment are cleaned regularly and each baby is given personal attention and will find warmth in the midst of our church.

A great deal of preparation has gone into making our nursery safe and enjoyable. In order to provide better care for your child, we have compiled some guidelines here on our website. We pray you will find these reflective of high standards for hygiene and care. Together, we want to give quality care for any child associated with our nursery.

Check-In
When checking a child into the nursery, the standard procedure is as follows:

  • First time visitors will fill out a Child Information Sheet and an Allergy Card for your child.
  • Please sign-in using the clipboard. Remember to indicate Child’s Name, your location, and Special Instructions (please don’t hesitate to be specific).
  • Please be sure to label all bottles, cups, and pacifiers with child’s name or initials.

Pagers are available for parents to take to their classes and worship service. Please indicate pager number on sign-in clipboard.

Allergy Policy
We have a “No Nuts Policy” within our department. Several of our children are highly allergic to nuts of any kind – especially peanuts. This means that we will not serve peanut products for snack. This includes peanut butter, Honey Nut Cheerios, or any product containing peanut oils. We need you to comply with this policy by refraining from sending peanut products with your child for snack during church service or lunch at Mother’s Morning Out.
We have approved and serve regularly the snacks listed below:
  • Graham crackers and soda crackers
  • Cheerios
  • Goldfish crackers
  • Vanilla Wafers
  • Apple juice and water

Sick Child Policy
In order to provide a safe, healthy environment for all our children we ask that staff, volunteers, and children who have displayed the following symptoms during the last 24 hours not attend the nursery:

  • Vomiting
  • Any degree of fever
  • Diarrhea
