Preschool and Mother’s Morning Out Philosophy
It is our goal at Southwest Christian Preschool and Mother’s Morning Out to provide families a safe, nurturing place for their children to learn and grow. We believe that in such an environment, children will explore the possibilities of the world around them. Southwest Christian Preschool teaches children to trust in God, to love others, and to believe in themselves. We believe God has created every child with unique abilities and gifts. It is our responsibility as educators and parents to guide our children toward the life that God has planned.
Programs and Curriculum
Mother’s Morning Out is a program designed for children 6 weeks to 24 months. Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment for children with a climate of Christian love and acceptance. This program allows children of similar ages to play and learn together. Each Mother’s Morning Out room has age appropriate toys, high chairs, swings, and activity saucers. Our infant room also has cribs for those mid-morning naps. Mother’s Morning Out is staffed with loving mothers and grandmothers with many years of experience.
Southwest Christian Preschool is a program designed for 2, year olds through Kindergarten. We use a combination of HighReach Learning Curriculum and Abeka. Our curriculum programs are based on the philosophy that children learn best through hands-on activities that address the needs of the whole child. In addition, our curriculum reflects the belief that children need a balance of child-initiated and teacher-facilitated activities each day. Themes are used to introduce information, and learning takes place as a child explores and manipulates real objects and events. Each classroom is staffed with a lead teacher and an assistant.
Mother’s Morning Out programs are from 9 AM – 1 PM Tuesday and Thursday. This program is designed for children ages 6 weeks to 24 months.
