50/50 Campain/Building & Grounds Phase One of our restroom renovations is complete. The restrooms behind the gym have been fully renovated and are quite nice. Thank you to all who contributed to this process. Work will soon begin on our Sanctuary restrooms. Available Now The 50th Anniversary Church History Books are here. This book gives a detailed account of the history of Southwest Christian Church. Much time and effort has been put into the compilation of this book which is over 300 pages in length. Wonderful Wednesday This Wednesday, our children will present their Spring program "Jailhouse Rock". Don't miss this upbeat musical that teaches children about our freedom in Christ as believers. Plan to come and support our kids. And on May 14, our missionaries to college students in Thailand, Greg & Allison Coley, will be sharing their experiences in reaching university students in Bangkok, Thailand. Plan on being her and showing the coley's your support. Meal @ 6pm - ($4 per person 7yrs & older with a $15 family maximum) (children under 7yrs free and College Students free) note: we will have Youth Express Adult Class @ 7pm - "The Life of Joseph" studies will resume on May 21st. A video lesson with Bob Russell followed by discussion. Bob Russell was minister of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville,KY. Celebrate Recovery (rooms 314-315) @ 6:30-8pm Ninety minutes devoted to Praise, Worship and small group discussion. If you have any questions see Ty & Julie Yokum or Rhonda VanBuskirk. May 11 ... Sunday We will have a Combined Service in the Sanctuary. Several of our children will be baptized during this service and we will have a special recognition of Jim Dyer.
May 17-24 ... Saturday thru Saturday Mexico Mission Trip 2008 About 25 of our church family, varying in ages and backgrounds, will be traveling to Juarez, Mexico. There, we will team up again with Casas por Cristo to build a house for a needy family. While in El Paso and Juarez, we will get to be with Pete, Abby and Eden Dockery as Pete leads us on the construction. We are thankful to our church family that gives so generously to fund these trips so we can be the hands and feet of Jesus. Information Update We need updates for our office records to better inform our college age and young adults about church activities. We need current addresses, phone numbers and email addresses. Please fill out a Silent Roll Call Card in the pews and write "UPDATE" on the card if you are a member, regular attendee or visitor who would like to stay informed. If you are a parent or grandparent of these folks, please help us out in their absence by getting this information to us. The women won both games of their double-header this past week. Their next game will be at 9:15pm on Monday, May 05. The men won both games of a double-header Tuesday night. Ronnie Crowe was the leading hitter in the first game going 4 for 4 as Southwest won 14-8. In the second game, Southwest won 18-5 with Robert Bowen as the leading hitter going 3 for 3. The men play again this Tuesday, May 06, at 9:15pm. |

We are thrilled to have our new Children's Ministry website up and running. This is the first in a list of very exciting things happening in our ministry to children at Southwest. We've got plans to expand this with downloadable forms, volunteer schedules, games, and Parent Connection Pages. General bulletin information will still appear on this page. |

Baby Friendly Church
Baby changing tables are installed in all four rest rooms on the main level. Also, we have pagers for you to carry while your children are in the nursery and hope that these items will give you assistance and peace of mind while you're here worshiping at the church. Give Your Faith Away The best gift any of us have ever received came from Jesus. Our faith is something precious, paid for by a great price, custom made for you and me. Please join in sharing your gift with the children at SwCC. As our ministry to children has grown, so has our need for volunteers. Here are the positions currently available: Children's Welcome Center Greeter (a great opportunity for couples once a month) Nursery Volunteers (once a month - Sun.or Wed.) Toddlers & 2yr.old Sunday School Assistant (every other month) 4 yr. old Worship Hour Teacher (every other month) 5 yr. old Assistant (every other month - Sun.or Wed.) 5 yr. old Worship Hour Teacher (every other month) Elementary Sunday School Assistant (every other month) Elementary Sunday School Teacher (every other month) |
For the safety of our children and those who care for them, please remember to check your child in at one of our Children's Ministry Welcome Centers when dropping them off for Sunday School or Worship Hour services. Children may be checked in at 9:15am and may be picked up immediately following the worship services. Siblings 16 and over may retrieve their yournger brothers and sisters. |
